Dear LPC members,
After the long winter, it’s great to be back outside playing pickleball with our friends. It will be a busy spring and summer with lots to look forward to; daily play, ladder leagues, tournaments, and social events.
It’s important to remember that our members are what make Lakeshore Pickleball Club a great organization. The success of our club depends on the help and support of our members to continue to grow and thrive. That being said, new terms for the club’s Board of Directors start on August 1st, 2024. Please consider serving as a member of the LPC Board!
● We are currently seeking candidates who wish to serve as Board President. This is a two year
position starting August 1, 2024, and ending July 31, 2026. The duties of the president include, but aren’t limited to, presiding at meetings, appointing committees with approval by the majority of the Board; calling special meetings as needed, filling Board vacancies with consultation and approval by the majority of the Board, spokesperson for LPC, coordinating with other Pickleball Clubs and USAP, issuing rules and guidelines when there are safety concerns or other requirements not covered by these bylaws or the rules of play.
● We are also seeking candidates who wish to serve as Board Secretary. This is a two year
position starting August 1, 2024, and ending July 31, 2026. The duties of the secretary are, take minutes at the LPC Board meetings and make them available to the members upon request via email; determine if a quorum exists at meetings; send notices to members; transfer all records to successor at end of term.
● We are also seeking candidates to serve as Board Members at Large. There are three
vacancies that need to be filled. This is a one-year position starting August 1, 2024, and ending July 31, 2025. Duties consist of attending monthly board meetings and collaborating with other Board members on issues pertaining to the well-being of our club and serving on or chairing committees as needed.
Officers remaining on the board are as follows: Vice President, John Gabalis and Treasurer, Shelly Finkhouse.

We ask that you make your interest known to the Selection Committee by Sunday, June 9, 2024. The election will take place later this summer at the annual Member Meeting. More on the annual meeting and election specifics in a later communication.
