Places to Play

There are many pickleball venues in the Lakeshore area but it can be a challenge to know where to play on a given day. Listed below is a compilation of the many venues available for pickleball. Some of these are seasonal and of course the weather can be a factor as well.

The schedules listed are subject to change. For specific questions, please contact the venue.

1. Mulligan’s Hollow 30 Sherman Street, Grand Haven, MI

There are six dedicated outdoor courts & four portable nets that can be used on the tennis courts when they aren’t being used for tennis. We consider this our club’s “home court”. It’s sheltered in a bowl and has close proximity to the channel and Lake Michigan. No water on site and you will have to make do with a porta-potty.
Drop-in play (share the courts): 8-11 am, daily.
Open play (first-come, first-served can stay on their court): after 11 am.

2. Central Park 808 Central Park Ave, Spring Lake, MI

This village park has eight courts, each with separate fencing for errant ball control. Very close to the pavilion with restrooms and water.
Drop-in play: 8:30 to 11 am, daily.

3. Schmidt Heritage Park 15704 Ferris Street, Grand Haven,MI

Twelve outdoor courts. The schedule for play is posted at the courts.

4. Coast Guard Park 18161 N Shore Rd, Spring Lake, MI 49456

Four outdoor courts with lights. No fences.

5. Ross Park 82 Randall Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49441

Three new courts.

6. Port Sheldon 16201 Port Sheldon St., West Olive, MI

Three outdoor courts.

7. Roosevelt Park 3106 Roosevelt Rd, Muskegon, MI

Public park with four courts and a practice wall. Restroom facilities and water are available.

8. McGraft Park Addison St and Glen Ave., Muskegon, Muskegon County, MI

Four public courts and a practice wall.

9. Beachwood Park 3160 Dune Street, Muskegon, MI

Four public courts.

2. Spring Lake Aquatic Center

Limited space but they do have a multipurpose room marked for pickleball. A fee-based community club. Contact Front Desk at 616-847-5858 for more information.

3. Ferrysburg Community Church
17785 Mohawk Dr, Spring Lake, MI

Spacious, carpeted indoor gym with three courts. $5 donation.
Tuesday: 6-8:00 PM
Friday: 1-3:00 pm

 

4. White Pines Intermediate School
1400 S Griffin St, Grand Haven, MI

Three indoor courts in the auxiliary gym. $5 fee which can be paid in advance at norarec.org
or $5 can be placed in the payment box located inside the North entrance of the auxiliary gym.
Sunday drop-in play 2:30-5:30pm.  $5.  Share the courts.

Tuesday drop-in play 6-9:00pm.  $5.  Share the courts.

 

 

 

5. Christian Reformed Conference Grounds
12253 Lakeshore Drive, Grand Haven

3 indoor courts with a vinyl gym floor.    Available mid-October through April.
Monday – Friday: 9-11 am, all levels drop-in play $5.   Noon-2 pm, all levels drop-in play  $5.
Thursday: 6-8 pm, all levels drop-in play.  $10

6. SportHouse
1350 Judson Road, Spring Lake, MI

Six indoor courts can be expanded to nine (9) courts. $3. Free for SportHouse members.
Monday, Tuesday, Friday:  5 am – 12pm & 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Sunday: 8:30 am-12:00 pm

7. Lakeshore Sports Centre
4470 Airline Rd, Muskegon, MI 49444

Four indoor courts. $5 drop-in, $25 for 1.5 hour reservations.
7 days a week. 9 am – noon,  all levels drop-in
Court reservations are available non-drop-in times on their website.

8. Calvin Christian Reformed Church
973 W Norton, Muskegon, MI

This is a church gym providing three pickleball courts. Typically a $5 donation is solicited from all players. Contact Joella Lamont (231) 329-3433

9. Anchor Point Bible Church
635 Seminole Rd, Norton Shores, MI

Church gym provides three indoor pickleball courts. Mostly intermediate, but a sampling of all levels. Suggested $3 donation for play.
Monday and Thursday: 1-3 pm

10. Muskegon First Lutheran Church
1206 Whitehall Road, Muskegon, MI

This venue is on the north side of Muskegon, a great place for Muskegon players. A donation is requested. Contact Jim Timme (231) 744-4986 or Steve DeVries (231) 744-8050 for more information.

11. MSA Lakeshore in Holland
12429 Ransom Road, Holland MI 
6 indoor courts for year-round play. $5 for MSA members, $10 for non-members. A 12-month membership is $39. Courts can be rented for $25 per hour.
Monday-Friday:  9-11:30 am, drop-in all levels.
Monday-Thursday: 12:30-3:00 pm, drop-in all levels.

12. SportsQuest Family Center
3325 100th Ave, Zeeland, MI 49464

SportsQuest offers open play for 3.5+ tournament level players MWF mornings 9-12, and has open play for all levels Friday evenings 6-9pm.  Cost for open play is $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers. $60 seasonal membership fee. They also offer clinics, tournaments and court rentals.
