Dear LPC members, May 2023
After the long winter, it’s great to be back outside playing pickleball with our friends. It will be a busy spring and summer with lots to look forward to; daily play, ladder leagues, tournaments, and social events.
It’s important to remember that our members are what make Lakeshore Pickleball Club a great organization. The success of our club depends on the help and support of its members to continue to grow and thrive. That being said, new terms for the club’s Board of Directors start on August 1st, 2023. Please consider serving as a member of the LPC Board!
We are currently seeking candidates who wish to serve as Club Vice President. This is a two year position starting August 1, 2023, and ending July 31 2025.
- Duties include:
Assume the duties of President if the President is absent, assist the President in all Club activities, such as attending monthly board meetings and collaborating with other Board members and community entities on issues pertaining to the well-being of our club, as well as chairing or serving on committees as needed.
We are also seeking candidates who wish to serve as Club Treasurer. This is a two year position starting August 1, 2023, and ending July 31, 2025.
- Duties include:
Collect dues and special assessments; disburse funds as directed by the Board of Directors; provide a written financial report at each Board of Directors’ meeting; provide a verbal financial report at the annual summer membership meeting; maintain complete records of all income and expenses, including the LPC checkbook; maintain and update LPC’s membership lists; and transfer all records to successor at end of term. Prepare or insure that appropriate IRS filings are made as it relates to a 501(c)(3) organization.
We are also seeking candidates to serve as Board Member at Large. There are three vacancies for this position that need to be filled. This is a one-year position starting August 1, 2023, and ending July 31, 2024.
- Duties include:
attending monthly board meetings and collaborating with other Board members on issues pertaining to the well-being of our club, and chairing or serving on committees as needed.
