Schmidt Heritage Park Drop-In Play Guidelines
Drop-in play at Schmidt Heritage Park is open to players of all skill levels at designated times & courts. To keep it enjoyable for everyone, please follow the simple guidelines below.
Drop-In Play
- Courts 1 – 5 weekdays from 8-12 and 6 to close
- Use the paddle rack to queue up for the next game
- Courts 1 – 4:
- 3 or fewer paddles racked – winner stay & split, losers come off
- 4 or more paddles racked – all four players come off
- Rotate out after two games
- Challenge Court 5
- Winner choose to stay together or split
- Next two players come on the court
- Court 5 is a challenge court. Courts 1-4 are divided by skill level
Open Play
- Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No need to share courts
- Courts 6-12 are always open play. Courts 1 – 5 are open play weekdays 12-6 and all day on weekends
- The courts are available on a first come, first served basis. Players do not have to share their court
Gameplay Etiquette
- Introduce yourself to new players
- Ensure the receiver is ready before serving
- Call lines for your side only and respect others’ calls
- Loudly call “out” and use a hand signal when the ball is out
- If unsure, assume the ball was in
- Call your own foot faults, and let others do the same
Player Courtesy
- Be mindful of hitting too hard at less experienced players
- Challenge yourself by hitting to stronger players
- Keep play moving along and respect others
