Good news! The nets are up at Mulligan’s Hollow! Please read and be aware of the following important information.
Drop-in play will begin this Monday, June 1
Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 11 AM
Sunday through Friday 5 PM to Dark
The courts will remain open for drop in play during these hours, Monday thru Saturday as long as common sense precautions and safety practices are used by everyone who comes to play pickleball:
Please don’t come to the courts if you are sick, sneezing, coughing, etc.
Social distancing should be practiced both on the courts and while waiting to play. The tables and bleachers have been marked with Xs for seating, or bring your own chair. Gently remind friends to “back up a bit”!
Players should bring their own hand sanitizer, water bottles, and paddles. Club pickleballs and paddles will not be available to use until further notice.
Each member will be given a pickleball to keep. Put your name on your ball and use it when serving. Only you should touch your ball. Others can touch it with paddle only. You may bring your own pickleball from home, if you choose. Please label with your name.
For now, no paddle tapping at the end of the game.
The port o john will be delivered to the courts, next week. Please be aware that it is sanitized only once per week.
Because of the covid-19 situation, there will be some changes to our usual rotation procedure during drop in play:
A “four on, four off” system of rotation will be used if people are waiting to play, and a sign up board will be used instead of the paddle rack. Players go on as a foursome and come off after one game.
All players must use this board for rotation purposes during drop in play. With this system, you may chose the players/level you wish to play with.
Players will enter the front courts via the opening by the tennis courts, and exit thru the opening where the paddle racks used to be. The the back courts will be entered thru the gate next to the tennis courts and exited via the tennis courts.
These procedures are in place for the health and safety of our members. Changes are sure to be made as issues come up. There will be people on hand to help while we become familiar with the new rotation system.
Please be patient as we all adjust to the whole idea of playing pickleball while practicing social distancing and safety practices. It’s new to all of us!
For those who need or choose to be more cautious, please set up play dates with your own foursome or singles partner during the non drop in hours. Please remember, club paddles and balls will not be available to use until further notice.
We are counting on everyone following these recommendations for the health and safety of all.
See you on the courts!
