By October 8, 2024No Comments

MATCHING FUNDS UPDATE:

We are knocking on the door of meeting our matching fundraising goal of $2500. If you have not donated as of yet please consider adding to the fund and pushing us over the top. Thank you to all of those who have given so far. It is very rewarding to see how our membership has stepped up and is creating a legacy we can be proud of. With our efforts being so close and believing we will meet the goal we will close out the fundraising drive on Saturday, October 12th. If you want to mail a donation, please use the address below.

FALL PIZZA PARTY:

The fall pizza party is scheduled on October 20th. We will have pickleball at MH from 2:00-4:00 with pizza at Odd Sides Ale from 4:00-6:00. So far we only have about a dozen people who have responded that they are coming. Please try and respond soon so we know how many people are coming and how many pizzas to order. Please send your RSVP to info@lakeshorepickleball.com to hold your place.

FALL MAINTENANCE AT MULLIGAN’S HOLLOW:

With the outdoor season coming to a close we are planning on a general maintenance day at Mulligan’s Hollow on Saturday, October 26th at 10:00 am. If there is bad weather we will reschedule for Sunday, October 27th. We plan on rolling up the windscreens, taking the nets off the portable units, putting away some tables, and taking down signage for the season. We need at least 6 people with taller step ladders to help roll up the windscreens and secure them to fencing with zip ties. Additional people are needed to help to remove old zip ties and help with the other work. In addition to the ladders, please consider bringing cutters to remove zip ties. Please contact John Gabalis by email at grandhavenjohn@gmail.com if you can help.

The permanent nets will remain up until the city removes them. This usually occurs mid-November to mid-December. The outhouse will be removed at the end of October as well. With any inclement weather, the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds is now available for indoor play. The fee is $5 per daily session, either 9-11 or 12-2.

Thank you again for another great year of pickleball and friendship as well as support of LPC and the pickleball community.
